Interview With Beth Allen (Amber)
Date unknown. This is a translation of an article that appeared in Spain.
Thanks to Paula Chamas for providing this interview :D

She's the good and beautiful girl from The Tribe. But don't be fooled, she's got a lot of temper and has become the leader of the Mallrats.

At only fourteen years old, Amber has to take the responsibility of becoming the "Mommy" of a group of children. That will make her mature too early and show her claws as soon as her kids are threatened. No one can make her mind up. Beth Allen, the actress that plays her, has confessed to us that she's as strong as her character.

How would you define your character Amber?
She represents the positive values of society. Amber is the kind of leader that looks after the younger member of her tribe. She's very self-confident and looks like a very tough girl who can handle everything, but she's also sensitive and has a great heart.

What do you think is the reason for the popularity of the series in forty countries?
The tribe is like a micro world, where all the subjects are treated but in a different way. It also sends a message: that we can build a better society.

Do you identify yourself with Amber?
A lot, I started playing her when I was fourteen and now, with nineteen (this interview was made in 2003), I'm still here. Like her, I like to always have the reason.

Do you get alot of fan-mail?
We have a world wide fan club and we receive a lot of letters, mostly form Germany. What they like about it is that it is a very positive series.

Have you got any other job plans?
We film fifty two episodes every season and that's very difficult to combine with other works. Anyway I've decided to start studying History and cinema at University. Besides I've recently made a movie for television (Murder in Greenwich). I still don't know what my path will be.
