Interview with Michelle Ang took place on 10th October 2001 on The Tribe message board. I hope you don't mind me using your replies fans! Questions are in dark orange, Michelle's answers are in light orange - enjoy! Jellie What time is it now in New Zealand? It's now 8.31 am How tall are you? Very short...it's a secret but I wear big shoes! What is your favorite food/drink? Chocolate and chocolate milk! What is your favorite film/actor? Romeo and Juliet; Kevin Spacey. How do you get the role of Tai San? The producers liked me in one of their previous productions, William Shatner's A Twist in the Tale - The Green Dress. How are you getting along with other cast members? Any favourites? I get on really well with all the cast. They are all very special people. Do you read Harry Potter? When you don´t read it, what is your fav. book? No, but I'd love to when I get the time. My sister does though and she loves it. I love books to do with mystical stuff so anything by Sheryl Jordan. What is your favorite color? Blue Do you have a boy-friend? Not at the moment. Do you speak some german words? Guten Tag! Seriously, I learnt German for 3 years but because we live so far away from Europe I haven't had a chance to practice it too much! kazan I'm sure u get on with all the cast but do you have your favourites It's really hard to have favourites 'cause everyone is so amazing and there are so many special people, each with something unique to offer. Have u any idea of the viewing figures for the tribe worldwide? I'm sorry, the company would most likely know that information. I don't know the figures but I do know that heaps and heaps of people watch it. There are so many fans from all around the world and when I was in England I was recognised ALL the time!! What you would be doing if u were not in the tribe. Carrying out a normal life. Also what are your plans for the future. Is anyone thinking of going solo (music wise)? What is your fav. track on Tribe album? I really would love to keep up with acting and dancing but if I had to have a normal job I'd be in advertising. I'm glad that you like the album! Yes, I do have a copy and my favourite song is Aba Deo. Most of us love singing and some of us will probably go on with solo careers at some stage in our lives. Prudence Who would you say you hang out with most off set, if any of them? The people round my age like Tori, Caleb, Toni, Beth, Maz. Pretty much all of them actually! What do you do in your Spare time? Hang out with friends, dance, party! If you could act alongside anybody who would it be? Kevin Spacey all the way. I could learn so much from him. And do you belive in any of Tai-san's spiritual beliefes? I like yoga, incense and spirituality. Carolina Where are you from? I'm from Wellington. Have you studied ballet? Yes, i have studied ballet...or 11 years.It has always been a part of my life. Mindwarp16 I like your costumes and hairdo's but in like series 3 they got pretty hard to move around was is it hard to sit in the make-up chair for that long everyday? Yes, Tai San's hair always seems to take the longest as they have to iron it out! But the make-up girls are lovely and it was all for the cause! At the end of season 1 Tai-san kinda had a crush on Jack was it true? Take it as you like! :0) What was it like to work with Lucy Lawless? Awesome, she's such an incredible actress and mother. She taught me heaps. Why did Taisan burn the antdidote in the beginning of series two? She couldn't risk it getting in to the wrong hands. Is tai-san going to be extra crazy now that she thinks she the "supreme replacement" oh sorry mother in series four or is she going to settle down with and finally have a family with Lex? I'm sorry, i can't tell you! michal224 What do you think about tai san? I like the fact that she's in touch with her spirituality. I like to know what things you like to do ? Hanging out with friends, partying, dancing, watching movies. *Alderaan*: Which is your fave Tai-San-costume? I've had so many cool ones but the Supreme Mother one was pretty far out and funky! What is your favourite movie?Why? Romeo & Juliet 'cause it's so romantic and I like the way the director took a different angle to the traditional one. What do you think about Star Wars? Whose your fave character from it? (I´m a huge fan of Star Wars and Luke Skywalker myself ) Actually I didn't until the last 2 weeks when they started showing it in NZ on tv. Now I think I've crossed over to the dark side!! LOL. Luke, he's a bit old and a bit grippy! Amber_97@eagle.mountain: Are you going to university or to some school or are you just going to be an actress? I'm at Uni at the moment chemistry and economics. Ever considered a career as a dancer? I'd love to pursue a career in acting but dancing would definitely be a hobbie forever! cen_perk 2 Just would like to know how you felt being part of one of the last ever episodes of Xena!!! What was Lucy Lawless like? It was great working with Lucy. I learnt so much from her and because it was the last ep I wanted to do a really good job. Are you in Tribe 4? Tribe 4 is going great, can't tell you more. But watch out on the site for Tribe 4 pics coming this week! Eagle_87 How The Tribe has affected on your life? Heaps, Tribe WAS my life, but now I'm studying, it will always be one of the most memorable times in my life. It gave me the chance to experience something I had always wanted too. Do you think Tribe has some kind of a message to people or is it just a tv-series? Definitely a message. It talks about important things like responsibility and how you can make a difference. What do you want from life? To be happy and have no regrets :-) Original What movies do you like watching? Romeo and Juliet - my all time fav. What actors do you like? It has similarities to Atlantis High, another show that I'm addicted to (I've seen the tapes LOL)! Do you like the Backstreet Boys? (I dont*lol*) Yep. Whats your favourite drink/food? Chocolate and anything with chocolate. GondorWarrior Which of the scenes could you look back on and say to yuorself,that was perfect, I could not have done better? My most memorable best scene would have been in Series 2 when Tai San and Lex broke up. When playing the Supreme Mother was there any time that the Guardian really scared you? Damon, was really authentic at the part, he was getting up close and yelling. I wasn't scared as such but he was so my face. TheOneyOneOney How old are you now 17 How is school going? exams etc...? Yes, I get recognised and it's kinda weird. They know about me but I don't know about them. Everyone has been really nice though! Heelz Could you describe yourself in 4 words? Enigmatic, passionate, loyal, happy. Do you have a nickname? Belle. I was wondering where do you see yourseif in 5 years time? Travelling around the world backpacking with best mates. Will you come to Scotland on your backpacking trip? I'd love to come to Scotland but I'd stay away from the haggis! Your accents are so cool! Did you find it hard to work with Damon on those scenes, because you didn't work with him that much before? Yeah, but he is so professional that it was a real pleasure. What TV show's do you watch? Yeah, my Grandad is a palm reader. And my mum ha picked it up from him so it's always been in the family. I just walked 3 blocks in the cold rain to talk to you. I'm sure that there will be another promotional tour at some stage but I don't know who, where or when! Could you plz tell me what abadeo means? He's really cool Noir Do you believe in supernatural things (i.e ghosts etc.)? Fully, and angels. Good friend of Danny James'? What's he really like..? Danny is great, he's just as crazy as Zoot, but in a much niceer way. If you could be any other character, which would you be? Ebony, because she is so different to Tai San. How would you react to a deadly virus like in the show? Would you start dying your hair and putting on paint? It's all about making your own identity. I would probably have had my hair dyed before the virus anyway. But, how would I react...I would probably be devastated, esp if my parents were affected. How many songs on the album do you sing in? All perhaps? We all sung on most of them, but I can't say how the sound engineers mixed it. But I do know I didn't sing the boys ones. lol La La Angle Is there anything you don't like about your character? She can really be unaware of other peoples feelings. Do you have any brothers or sisters? One sister. Who's your best friend from the cast? I love all of them, but mainly hang out with Tori, Caleb and Beth. chayo If you only have to choose one thing dance or act what would it be? That ls so hard! Acting -then I could be in a dance movie! lol Hanna What have been the hardest scenes to do? The Lex and Tai San break up in Series 2. What languages do you speak? I leant German at school but haven't had the chance to practice it. Has fame changed you somehow? I don't consider myself famous, but the public are more aware of who I am. When is your b-day? In one week! 17th Oct - i'll be 18. Margarita salt Is it hard to keep up with your studies while filming the tribe? Yes. Once you have finished uni what kind of job do you want to go in to apart from acting? Advertising. What's ur favourite Cocktail? Fallen Angel. Peaches Have you ever been to the USA if so where? Yes I have and I'm really sorry to hear about what has happened there. I've been from Houston to Florida. What do you do when your not filming he tribe? Hang out, catch up with all the schoolwork I missed I know this is off track but what is Ryan like off screen and do you hang out with him ever? Ryan's in the same class at Uni with me. He's quite possibly the most down to earth guy I've ever met and he's so funny! Bye bye! It's been heaps of fun chatting to you guys.
