What is a 'tribe' in The Tribe?

After the virus killed the adults, the kids on the streets formed groups called tribes. Members in a tribe help each other out to survive, they trade with other tribes for food, they also fight with other tribes over territories and the overall control of the city. Some tribes have a special cause and are a group of like-minded individuals.

Each tribe has a name, the main tribe in The Tribe is the Mallrats. Other tribes to feature in the series include the Gaians, Tribe Circus, The Locusts/Locos and the Smile.

The name of a tribe represents a characteristic/trait of it's members, for example the Gaian tribe live in the forest, live of the land and are at one with nature, while the Locusts live in the city and cause terror in the strees as they attack and terrorise other kids.

Kids who do not have a tribe are called strays.
